Physiotherapy - Juliana Samson

Juliana Samson GradCertPhysio.BAppScPhty(Hons).

Physiotherapist – musculoskeletal specialist

Physiotherapy assists people in their recovery of function following injury. Physiotherapists are trained as first contact practitioners, meaning that patients can self refer directly to the service.

Physiotherapists carry out a detailed assessment of each patient to identify the specific problems relating to their presentation. In collaboration with the patient, the best treatment is then chosen to address their requirements.

Treatment modalities such as massage, nerve mobilisation, joint mobilisations, spinal adjustments and exercise therapy are used in this process. Advice is also offered, regarding the appropriate amount of activity for any given stage of recovery.

Physiotherapists believe that treatment provides the optimal conditions for natural healing processes to occur.

Juliana trained as a physiotherapist at the University of Sydney, Australia, graduating in the year 2000. She completed her hospital residency locally, before travelling to the UK.

Since then she has gained clinical experience in musculoskeletal outpatients and sporting injuries through working with the armed forces, the NHS and in private practice.

Juliana returned to Australia in 2005 to pursue specialist studies in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.  On completion she was awarded a graduate certificate from the University of Adelaide, Australia. Juliana subsequently joined Castle Clinic and is now residing permanently in Yorkshire.
