Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a system of healing practised in China for thousands of years and now widely accepted all over the world. Traditional Chinese philosophy is based on the concept that health is dependent on the body's motivating energy - known as Qi - flowing in a smooth and balanced way through a series of channels beneath the skin. By inserting very fine needles into specific points on these channels the acupuncturist aims to stimulate the body's own healing response and restore balance.

Treatments are tailored to you personally and aim to treat the root of the problem as well as the symptoms. A full case history will be taken during the initial consultation to understand how your body is functioning and what acupuncture can do to help improve your health and general well-being.

Some private health insurance companies allow people to claim for all or part of their acupuncture treatments.

Further information about acupuncture and the conditions it has been used for can be found on the British Acupuncture Council website at www.acupuncture.org.uk

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Chinese philosophy informs us that the face reflects what is happening inside the body. Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments are based on the principles of Chinese Medicine and involve the insertion of ultra fine needles into specific points on the face, ears and body areas such as hands, legs and feet. This provides a treatment not just for the face but for the body as a whole.

Many people feel deeply relaxed after treatment with an enhanced sense of general well-being, while others find cosmetic acupuncture leads to feeling revitalised and more positive.

NB* - The face is a very sensitive area and as such there is a risk of minor, temporary bruising for some people.
