Audiology

The measurement and understanding of hearing loss and tinnitus, and the retraining and rehabilitation required to improve hearing. Untreated hearing loss is associated with feelings of frustration and embarrassment, isolation and loneliness and ultimately, adverse effects on one's balance and mental health. The first step in understanding hearing loss is to have your hearing measured.

Bowen Therapy

The Bowen technique is a soft tissue remedial therapy which involves the therapist using fingers or thumbs to make specific gentle rolling type moves over muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia in various parts of the body. These moves aim to stimulate the body to identify areas of imbalance, leaving it to make the changes necessary to restore balance and improve function.
Each set of Bowen 'moves' is interspersed with a short rest or break which allows the body time to process the information and begin to initiate the healing process.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic is concerned with improving function of the musculo-skeletal system and in particular, the spine. It is a method of locating areas of mechanical dysfunction that could be contributing to poor mobility, pain and discomfort.  Specific, gentle adjustments help to restore correct movement and relieve pain.

Emotional Freedom Techniques EFT

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a form of counseling intervention that draws on various theories of alternative medicine including acupuncture, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), energy medicine, and Thought Field Therapy (TFT). It is best known through Gary Craig's EFT Handbook, published in the late 1990s, and related books and workshops by a variety of teachers. EFT and similar techniques are often discussed under the umbrella term "Energy Psychology". EFT may be used to treat a wide variety of physical and psychological disorders, and as a simple form of self-administered therapy.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy approach designed for working with distressing or traumatic memories. The theory behind EMDR is that many psychological difficulties are the result of distressing life experiences which have not been stored in memory properly and are said to be unprocessed or blocked. These traumatic memories may need some help to become processed, and EMDR is one way to do this.

The EMMETT technique

The EMMETT Technique is a unique form of body relaxation therapy involving the application of light finger pressure at specific points on the body.  It is based on the belief that light touch on specific targeted sensory receptor points can trigger a relaxation response in the soft tissue which may help relieve feelings of tension in the area of concern. The result is often instantaneous feelings of greater ease and comfort.

Hopi Ear Candling or Thermal Auricular Therapy

Thermal Auricular Therapy or Hopi Ear Candling is a gentle, relaxing treatment involves the use of hollow tubes (candles) which are inserted into the outer ear canal and when lit the flame creates a gentle vacuum which may help to draw impurities gently to the surface. The treatment concludes with a face massage in which the sinuses and lymphatic points are treated to encourage efficient drainage. This treatment may be helpful for excessive or compacted ear wax, snoring, pressure regulation in the case of sinusitis, rhinitis, glue ear or after colds/flu, headaches & migraines, noises in the ear and tinnitus, relaxation and stress relief, neuralgia, irritation of the ears and sinus, pain or pressure when flying/scuba diving/ swimming, vertigo/balance issues.

Hypnosis

NLP is a therapeutic technique to detect and reprogramme unconscious patterns of thought and behavior in order to alter psychological responses. The basic principle of NLP is that it is in an individual's power to change their own subconscious programming for the better. NLP seeks to create positive and improved responses, and its applications include most areas involving human communications, such as education and accelerated learning, creative processes, health and wellbeing.

NLP is closely connected to, and relies in part on the use of hypnosis as an altered state of awareness which causes a person to be more open to auto-suggestions in NLP.
